Westeros react a unbelievable - Chapter 1 - FinnMoto (2024)

Chapter Text

It was a normal day in Westerosos. The common folk woke up to carry out their tasks, while the nobles, more varied in their activities, some performing duties and others conspiring to gain more power or wealth, or both.

However, a day that seemed like any other turned into something extraordinary in the blink of an eye. Strange screens appeared in the air, and large screens filled the sky, not enough to cover it completely, but sufficient for even those with visual difficulties to see clearly.

Regardless of what they were doing or where they came from, everyone stopped immediately. After the initial shock, the people of Westerosos gathered to try to understand the origin of these magical screens. Improvised meetings arose in squares, taverns, and halls, where commoners and nobles debated the mystery that hung over the kingdom.

In Kingslanding:

In the capital, Kingslanding, King Robert Baratheon expressed his frustration at the unknown. His small council was as perplexed as he was.

"Okay, you idiots, does anyone know what the seven hells is happening? We are surrounded by screens, and my small council apparently has no idea what is going on," Robert Baratheon yelled in fury.

At the beginning of the day, after mourning the death of the one he considered a father, Robert Baratheon planned to go to Winterfell to appoint his last and best friend as Hand of the King. However, this plan had to be postponed due to the madness of magical screens that appeared in various places, as the ravens indicated.

The counselors, unable to offer clear answers to the furious king, saw Varys, the Master of Whispers, trying to ease the tension.

"Forgive our inability to bring answers, my king. What is happening now has never happened before in the history of Westeros, and it certainly has magical origins," Varys said softly, although internally, he was anxious, as he knew and detested magic more than anything.

Pycelle stammered, "I-I-Indeed, Sire, this is magic we do not know. It is not a natural event or the work of the maesters." He trembled, but this time, it was not feigned, as he, being a maester, was taught that magic was an abomination that should not exist.

Cersei Lannister, trying to reason about the situation, said coldly, "If it is not the work of men, then it must be of the gods. Perhaps it is a sign to guide our destinies."

In Winterfell:

While confusion spread across Westerosos, in Winterfell, Lord Eddard Stark and his counselors gathered in the Great Hall to discuss the magical screen mystery.

Eddard Stark, calm as someone who actively fought in a war, knew that in situations like this, it was best to remain calm. Maester Luwin, although outwardly calm, was internally excited because magic was one of the things that fascinated him the most, despite the maesters' doctrine against it.

Sansa Stark, confused, asked her father, "Father, what do you think this means? Are they visions from the gods?"

Bran Stark tried to be helpful, commenting, "It might be green magic from the ancient times, but I'm not sure."

Robb Stark agreed, stating, "It seems like ancient magic, something from the times of the First Men."

Jon Snow, thinking of priorities, spoke clearly, "Magic or not, gods' will or not, it doesn't matter now. The priority should be figuring out what to do."

Eddard Stark reflected on the situation: "Jon is right. The origin of the screens can be discussed later. Now we need to stay united. Send ravens to other houses. Find out if they are facing the same mystery."

Catelyn Stark, worried, expressed her concerns, as she was taught that magic was something done by gods. The counselors discussed possible strategies, and Eddard Stark said, understanding the real reason for Catelyn's concern, "Catelyn, I understand your worry, but now we cannot afford to point fingers. We will focus on preparing Winterfell for any eventuality." Rodrik Cassel was assigned to send ravens immediately to the Night's Watch.

In Sunspear:

In the Palace of Dorne, the news of the magical screens reached Prince Doran Martell and his counselors.

Doran Martell, succinctly, asked, "What do we know about this?"

Areo Hotah replied, "Prince, there are reports that these visions occur throughout Westerosos. It seems to be a widespread phenomenon."

Oberyn Martell, mocking with a sly smile, teased, "Is my brother afraid of the unknown?" Doran, with a stoic look, received reassurance from his younger brother, who raised his hands, saying, "Okay, okay, there's no need to be like that. But as someone who has seen the sorcery of the people of Asshai and the red priests, something like this is clearly not normal."

Doran Martell pondered on the actions to be taken before the mystery of the magical screens: "Nymeria, Oberyn, send ravens to our allies in Westerosos. We need to understand the extent of this phenomenon. And, Areo, keep our borders vigilant."

In Casterly Rock:

In Casterly Rock, Tywin Lannister gathered his counselors in the War Room to discuss the mystery of the magical screens.

Tywin Lannister, coldly, skillfully hiding his frustration with the entire situation, asked, "What do we know about these visions? Does it affect only Westerosos, or is it a phenomenon that extends beyond our borders?"

Kevan Lannister, useful in his response, said, "We are still gathering information, my lord. But there are reports that it occurs throughout Westerosos."

Tywin Lannister, maintaining his expressionless demeanor, internally thanked for the useful information. He pondered on the actions to be taken before the mystery: "Kevan, intensify our information networks. I want to know more about who or what is behind this."

And all of Westerosos came to a halt again when the screen suddenly turned on.
